It’s not the flashiest place around but Quality Hotel Luleå has some tidy, wallet-friendly rooms and a decent location on the city’s main street.
There’s plenty of stuff to see and do around here, and some of Luleå’s best places to eat and drink are close by.
If you can ignore the drab corridors you’ll find that the rooms are surprisingly bright and welcoming (when we last visited they’d just been refurbished, which always helps).
Good double rooms are up for grabs and, as is typical in Sweden, you’ll get to choose whether you prefer one big bed or two singles pushed together. If you’re staying a while and need more space then the superior rooms are a bit bigger – and a couple of hundred kronor more expensive. Single rooms are also available.
Warmed by a nice open fire, the small lobby is a calm place to read the newspaper or catch up on emails. Close by, the hotel’s bar does cold beers and expensive cocktails, including a cloudberry Bellini. If hunger strikes you can grab something to eat here; otherwise there are loads of alternatives within a few blocks’ walk.
