If you need a cheap-ish place to stay and would prefer not to bunk up in a dorm, Mini Hotel is a really good choice. Located on the second floor on a quiet, car-free street, it’s close to dozens of good restaurants. The bars of Andra Långgatan are just around the block.
The boxy, modern rooms here line two long and parallel corridors. Each room has between two and four single beds inside (some of them are bunks) but in reality, there’s little difference between any of the rooms in terms of floor space. That means that two people sharing would probably find them pretty comfortable; squeeze three or four people into a similar space and things might start to feel a bit cramped.
Even so, all of the rooms we checked were bright and fresh – and the shower rooms and toilets along the corridors were nice and clean, with sparkly black tiles on the walls and floor.
Public areas like the dining room, where you can get free cups of tea and coffee, are livened up here and there by floor-to-ceiling pictures of leafy woodland. Meals can be prepared in the good-sized kitchen and if you can’t be bothered cooking, you can always buy drinks and basic snacks from the hotel’s reception desk.
