In the Finnish winter, the snow scooter is the go-to machine for locals with a need for speed. These roaring and ice-spewing beasts are the essential ingredients in the sport of SnowCross. The races take place around Finland as riders fight fearlessly for the national championship.

The Snowcross series is held over four chilly race weekends from January to March. Heats take place in the cities of Paljakka, Parikkala and Tornio before it all culminates with the crowning of the champion in Kuopio in mid-March.
Kuopio is a four-hour drive north of Helsinki, and the city enjoys a stunning location in Finland’s central Lakeland-region. The two-day SnowCross event takes place at the local racecourse, with a Pro-class for professional riders, plus a range of other classes from women to veterans and several junior leagues.
Struggling to keep warm? Then this action-packed weekend can fittingly be combined with some cross-country skiing or outdoor ice skating for the perfect Scandi-sports experience.
