The Oslo Brass Festival offers a unique spin on the typical band contest. Here, you’re free to come and go, to eat, giggle and laugh, without the stringent rules that usually come with band competitions.
Launched in April 2016, this festival breathed new life into the Norwegian brass band scene, attracting bands from across the country who compete in various classes. The competition places emphasis on the concert experience, ensuring that everyone enjoys good music in a relaxed atmosphere.
The competition venues are all in central Oslo, with an easy walk between stages. And many of the bands get the chance to perform to audiences in unusually large and centrally located premises such as Kulturkirken Jakob and the Rockefeller Music Hall.
Run by and for Oslofjord Brass, the Oslo Brass Festival is a vibrant demonstration of their passion for brass band music. So, if you like brass band music, drop in and see some of the county’s best bands play. It’s more than a competition – it’s a celebration of music and community.
