Scandinavia’s largest food festival is celebrating its 27th year. Gladmat, which means “happy food” in Norwegian, is an epic festival of food from production to gastronomy to culture. Enjoy four days of taste-bud bliss with 250,000 foodies, families and chefs from all over the world.

Gladmat specialises in “quality ingredients, traditional tastes, exciting fusions and great company”, and features a huge range of exhibitors, both local and international. As well as restaurants, there are food courses, art workshops, concerts, cooking competitions, food trails around the city, awards and entertainment.

The event is a chance to taste amazing dishes from professionals and amateurs alike, but also serves as a networking and resource sharing space for both consumers and the food industry.

The free festival takes over the centre of Stavanger, with kiosks, food stands, craft brewery stalls, pop-up restaurants and dancing around the city centre. There are also some paid tickets events which need to be booked in advance.
