Ready to delve into the flavourful world of Danish gastronomy? In August, the city of Copenhagen becomes a foodie’s paradise when it hosts Copenhagen Cooking, one of Northern Europe’s largest food festivals.
A celebration of Nordic cuisine, the festival showcases the very best of Denmark’s food culture, spotlighting key players on the gastronomic stage. You’ll get the chance to see demonstrations from some of the city’s top chefs and sample their dishes. Any many of the demonstrations are free, too.
Copenhagen Cooking is a chance not only to savour the Copenhagen restaurant scene but also to get to grips with New Nordic Cuisine, that’s all about using hyper-local and seasonal produce.
The festival also welcomes other cuisines too, with 2025 showcasing the cooking of Provence and celebrating the onion!
A highlight of this festival is its inclusivity, with numerous events conducted in English or needing no language skills at all. This makes it an ideal pick for international visitors looking to sample some of Denmark’s vibrant food culture.
